Simple answer, no.
Traffic infractions can have an effect not only on your wallet, but also your driving record (potentially your license) and your insurance premiums. Most courts allow attorneys to appear on behalf of clients who are not present, so you can challenge the ticket and you don't have to miss a day at work.

Violations with zero points may still appear on your driving record with the Secretary of State. Even though it is zero points, this can effect your insurance premium AND should you be cited with another traffic violation, then the officer/city attorney may see this and refuse to negotiate.
When you admit responsibility you are required to pay the fee at the time of assessment. Although, some Judges will allow for a grace period for payment, and challenging the ticket will allow for additional time to gather your funds. If you fail to pay after you admit responsibility, then a warrant may be issued and your license suspended. Many people are unaware that his/her license is suspended until they attempt to renew their license or they are pulled over and charged with a misdemeanor of driving while license suspended. Don't let this happen.
